Proven where it counts, not just in theory
Demand-based pricing isn't an experiment. Airlines and hotels have priced this way for decades, for one simple reason: a seat that flies empty, or a room that sits unsold, is revenue lost forever. A parking space is exactly the same, once 3pm passes, that hour can never be sold again.
So the real question was never "does dynamic pricing work?" It plainly does. The question is whether it transfers cleanly to a car park, with its own demand patterns, subscribers and constraints. That is the specific problem GENIE was built to solve.
Built on 720 days of real demand data
GENIE's pricing engine grew out of a master's thesis that analysed 720 days of real parking-demand data, not assumptions, and not a toy model. That work is why the product exists, and it's the reason we can talk about the size of the opportunity at all.
On that historical demand, in simulation, the best policy earned up to 72% more than the flat tariff, but that figure belongs to one deliberately worst-case site that had charged a single flat rate around the clock for two years. It is a modelled result on real data, not a booked customer outcome. A live deployment is a different thing, and there we expect 20-40%, which is why we quote "up to 40%" across the rest of the site. Your own number depends on your asset, your demand, and how far your current pricing sits from the optimum.
The full write-up, the method, the four policies compared, and every chart, is here: What a parking space is worth at 4 a.m.
How we talk about numbers
We hold ourselves to one rule: never present a simulated figure as a booked result. Our headline "up to 40%" is the top of what the simulation shows, and it mirrors the gains dynamic pricing has delivered for decades in airlines and hotels. The moment we have signed pilots and audited results, they'll appear here, clearly separated from the modelling.
Until then, the most useful number is the one built from your own data. Start with the revenue calculator for an illustrative range, or book a call and we'll build a projection from your figures.
Grounded in the industry, not a lab
GENIE is built to plug into how parking already runs. It integrates with major management systems and speaks the industry's data languages, including the APDS parking data standard, so the method sits on top of real operations rather than a spreadsheet.
